* Injured veteran actor Jackson Anthony transferred to Colombo National Hospital

July 03, Colombo: Veteran actor Mr. Jackson Anthony, who was admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital following an accident yesterday (July 02), has been transferred to the intensive care unit of the Colombo National Hospital.

He is scheduled to undergo surgery, hospital sources said.

Jackson Anthony and two others were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a wild elephant crossing the road in Thalawa, Moragoda area last night.

The accident occurred while they were returning to Anuradhapura accommodation after finishing the night shooting at Galgamuwa-Hachchikuchi temple. It is reported that the wild elephant fell on the cab.

Mr. Anthony's brother, Mr. Saman Anthony, and another person who was injured in the accident, were also admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.

The cab has been seriously damaged. The police say that the wild elephant may have been seriously injured.
