* Sri Lanka identifies 961 new COVID-19 cases Friday, total rises to 608,065

Jan 28, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 961 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Friday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 7:30 pm Friday, a total of 608,065 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic.

While 15,365 infected patients are currently under medical care at hospitals and homes, 577,314 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Sri Lanka Friday reported 17 deaths raising the total to 15,386.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 16,583,724 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 13,897,682 have received the second dose. In addition, 5,046,823 have received the third booster dose.
