Jan 16, Colombo: Two persons have drowned and a 10-year-old child has been reported missing while bathing in the Kalu Ganga in the Sri Palabaddala area in the Siripagama Police Division last evening (15).

Police said four persons were bathing in the river when they were swept away by strong currents last evening.

A 22-year-old youth and a 40-year-old male had drowned while one of them was rescued. The deceased were residents of the same area, the police said

The missing person is a 10 year old boy residing in Anguruwatota area.

Siripagama Police Station and lifeguards are searching for the missing child.
