* Sri Lanka Army, Police jointly raid Cannabis cultivation in Pothuvil

Jan 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka police with the assistance of Sri Lanka Army have raided two cannabis cultivations with over 1250,000 plants yesterday (14) morning in Lahugala Forest reserve in Pothuvil police division.

During the raid conducted on information received by the Pothuvil Police officers, the police and army officers have destroyed about 45,000 cannabis plants of about 6 feet tall in a land area of half an acre and about 80,000 cannabis plants of about 8 feet tall in a land area of one-fourth an acre.

Pothuvil Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspects.
