* Coronavirus update: 436 new COVID-19 cases identified Sunday, total rises to 591,667

Jan 09, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 436 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Sunday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 7:30 pm Sunday, a total of 591,667 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic.

While 9,471 infected patients are currently under medical care at hospitals and homes, 567,077 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Sri Lanka Sunday reported 7 deaths raising the total to 15,119.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 16,007,724 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 13,859,887 have received the second dose. In addition, 4,319,348 have received the third booster dose.
