Sept 30, Colombo: Another consignment of the U.S. manufactured Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine arrived in Sri Lanka early Thursday, an airport official said.
This consignment of 400,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine was donated to Sri Lanka under the World Health Organization's Covax facility. This is the largest consignment of Pfizer vaccine doses brought to the island.
The consignment of vaccine weighing 5,356 kilograms was packed in 77 boxes. The consignment was first stored in the air cargo cold storage at the airport
Another 400,000 doses of vaccine are expected tomorrow (01), State Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana said.
