* Department of Immigration and Emigration regional offices open from tomorrow

Sept 14, Colombo: The Department of Immigration and Emigration states that its divisional offices will be kept open for limited hours for normal services due to the current pandemic situation.

Accordingly Regional Offices of the Department of Immigration and Emigration at Matara, Kandy, Vavuniya, and Kurunegala will be reopen from tomorrow (15/09/2021) from 9 am to 1 pm daily to issue passports under normal service, the Department announced.

Accordingly, only clients who have essential service requirements can go to the office nearest to their place of residence.

The Head office at Battaramulla will continue to issue passports only under one day service during the Covid-19 epidemic.

The provision of all the above services is subject to policy decisions, curfews, health and security measures taken by the Government from time to time in the face of the current epidemic. Accordingly, the decisions regarding the provision of the Service will be subject to revision from time to time, the Department announced.
