* Another stock of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines arrives in the island

Sept 13, Colombo: Another consignment of the U.S. manufactured Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) arrived in Sri Lanka early Monday, an airport official said.

A consignment of 73, 710 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine was flown to the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport through Doha on a Qatar Airways cargo flight QR-668 arrived early this morning.

The consignment of vaccines were transported from the airport to the special refrigerated storage facility at the National Blood Transfusion Service (in Narahenpita by trucks of the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticals Corporation with special refrigeration facilities.

Sri Lanka this week also expects the delivery of 120,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine and 4 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine purchased by the government.
