* Sri Lanka seizes another foreign fishing vessel carrying a haul of heroin in deep sea

Sept 11, Colombo: A foreign multi-day trawler with another consignment of heroin being brought to Sri Lanka has been seized in the deep sea south of Sri Lanka.

The operation was launched last night on a tip off received by the Batticaloa Senior Superintendent of Police.

The vessel containing the heroin was seized as a result of a several day investigation conducted by a team of officers under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police in collaboration with the Navy.

It is currently estimated that more than 150 kilograms of heroin was found here.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said 9 foreign suspects on board the foreign fishing vessel were also arrested.
