* Private-Public partnership MoU signed to promote organic fertilizer production

Oct 26, Colombo: A Private-Public partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today to promote organic fertilizer production in Sri Lanka.

The MoU signed between the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company and the Warsaw-based Polish business capital company Fundacja Regina Purpurea Fundus.

The company with an investment of Rs. 12.8 billion is expected to produce 200,000 metric tons of organic fertilizer annually.

The organic waste required for the production of fertilizer is produced by the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company.

State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture Prof. Udith Jayasinghe, Chairman of the Commercial Fertilizer Company Colombo Methsiri Wijewardena and Chairman of Regina Purpurea Fundus Drabik Hubert Jerzy were also present at the signing ceremony.
