* Teachers are gearing up for a continuous Satyagraha

Oct 24, Colombo: The ‘National Coalition Against Teacher-Principal Salary Anomaly’ consisting of 16 teacher-principal trade unions has decided to hold a continuous satyagraha from tomorrow.

Indika Paranavithana, Senior Deputy Secretary of the Government Teachers 'Association of Sri Lanka, which is affiliated to the National Union Against Teachers’ Salary Anomaly, says that the continuous satyagraha will be held from today until November 12, when the budget will be presented to Parliament.

Mr. Paranavithana also said that no decision has been taken as of this afternoon regarding the place or time of the commencement of the continuous Satyagraha, Lankadeepa reported.

Meanwhile, all government schools will be reopened for all grades from Monday, October 25.
