* Coronavirus update: 548 new COVID-19 cases identified Tuesday, total rises to 532,766

Oct 19, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 548 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Tuesday.

Two foreign arrivals are among the cases identified today and others are from the New Year cluster.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 8:30 pm Tuesday, a total of 532,766 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the inception of the pandemic. While 25,736 infected patients are currently under medical care at hospitals and homes, 492,975 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Sri Lanka Tuesday reported 18 deaths within last 24 hours raising the total to 13,525.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 14,785,189 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 12,818,379 have received the second dose.
