* Coronavirus update: 680 new COVID-19 cases identified Wednesday, total rises to 528,415

Oct 13, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 680 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Wednesday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 8:30 pm Wednesday, a total of 528,415 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the inception of the pandemic. While 23,769 infected patients are currently under medical care at hospitals and homes, 491,238 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Sri Lanka Wednesday reported 31 deaths within last 24 hours raising the total to 13,408.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 14,731,502 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 12,553,819 have received the second dose.
