* Cabinet decides to resolve teacher-principal salary anomaly issue in three stages

Oct 12, Colombo: The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to eliminate the teacher and principal salary anomalies in three stages. The decision has been taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat last night.

Accordingly, it has been decided to include the new proposal to eliminate salary anomalies in the budget to be presented to Parliament on the 12th.

The government had earlier decided to eliminate the teacher-principal salary anomaly in four stages, but the teachers’ and principal’ unions had objected.
