* Measures to develop 670 roads in Matale District

Oct 11, Colombo: The widening and development of the Palapathwala - Galewela (B - 346) road under the 100,000 km road development program was commenced in Palapathwala recently under the patronage of the Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando.

The widening and developing of the 30.75 km Palapathwala - Galewela (B - 346) road at a cost of Rs. 3,552 million is expected to be completed within 12 months.

This road will be widened and developed under the direct supervision of the Road Development Authority.

Under the 100,000 km road development program, 670 roads in Matale district are to be developed.

Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Minister of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government and a number of Members of Parliament representing the Matale District were also present at the occasion.
