* Another child injured in Kinniya ferry accident dies

Nov 28, Colombo: A seven-year-old girl who was critically injured in the ferry accident in Kinniya has died this morning (28), police said.

The child died while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Trincomalee Hospital, police said.

Six people including four children were killed and 20 others were injured when the ferry carrying as many as 35 passengers capsized in the lagoon near the Kurinchankerny Bridge in Kinniya, Trincomalee on 23 November.

The death toll from the capsized ferry has risen to seven, police said

The chairman of the Kinniya Urban Council was arrested in connection with the accident. The owner of the private ferry and two operators were also arrested and remanded until 08th December.
