Fri, Nov 26, 2021, 09:37 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Nov 26, Colombo: The three-judge bench hearing the case against the former IGP Pujith Jayasundara, who is accused of failing to take action despite receiving prior information regarding the Easter Sunday attack, has summoned the current IGP CD Wickramaratne on the 29th to give evidence in the case.

The three-judge bench of the High Court has issued an order to summon the present IGP to appear in court on Monday (29) following a request made by Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris that the prosecution expects the IGP Wickramaratne to testify after the testimony of Chief of State Intelligence Nilantha Jayawardena.

A three-judge bench comprising Justices Namal Balalle, Aditya Patabendige and Mohamed Irshadeen issued the order.
