Nov 26, Colombo: Underworld gang member Hewa Lunuwilage Lasantha alias ‘Tinker Lasantha’ was shot dead by police in Kalutara this morning (26).

He was killed in a shootout with police in the Diyagama area in Kalutara, the Police said.

The suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon by the police on a tip off that he had arrived in Kalutara for a crime.

The shootout happened when ‘Tinker Lasantha’ had opened fire at a group of police officers while being escorted to recover two hidden pistols firearms, the Police said.
