* KimbulaEla Guna’s main associate ‘Homagama Podi Sampath’ arrested

Nov 24, Colombo: Podi Sampath of Homagama, who is believed to be the main associate of underworld leader Kimbulaela Guna, has been arrested with heroin worth Rs. 500,000.

Kimbulaela Guna, a large scale drug trafficker and gang leader is currently in jail in India.

When his main associate, Homagama Podi Sampath was arrested in the Makandana Kekuluwita area in Kesbewa yesterday (23), police seized 26 grams of heroin in his possession.

He had rented a house in the Kesbewa area and was engaged in heroin trafficking.

Podi Sampath has been arrested during an operation led by the Kesbewa OIC. Police say that he was involved in a number of crimes.
