Nov 23, Colombo: Another stock of 400,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine arrived in the country Tuesday.
The consignment, weighing 2,434 kilograms arrived in the country from Amsterdam in the Netherlands via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight. The flight carrying the consignment landed at the Katunayake International Airport at around 8.40am.
After unloading, the vaccine consignment, was taken to the Central Warehousing Complex in Colombo by refrigerated trucks of the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
This vaccine stock will be administered as booster doses in the vaccination program in the country.
Sri Lanka also received a consignment of 1.5 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) Monday.
