* South Korea grants Sri Lanka US$ 4 million to strengthen forensic drug analysis capabilities

Dec 08, Colombo: The Government of the Republic of Korea has provided a grant aid of USD 4 million to Sri Lanka to improve the facilities of the Government Analyst’s Department and for its capacity development to strengthen the forensic drug analysis capabilities.

The relevant agreement between the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Government Analyst Department and the Ministry of Justice for the grant aid was signed today (08) at the Ministry of Justice, the Minister of Justice said in a communiqué.

The project includes enhancing laboratory equipment in narcotic drug and forensic toxicology lab, provision of training on narcotic drugs and forensic toxicology, and development of a Laboratory Information Management System for the Government Analyst Department.
