* Ministerial Consultative Committee on Defense meets under the Chairmanship of the President

Dec 07, Colombo: The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Defense met under the chairmanship of the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Parliament Complex this afternoon (07).

The President, who arrived in Parliament to attend the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Defense in his capacity as the Chairman was received by Dinesh Gunawardena, Leader of the House, Johnston Fernando, Chief Government Whip and several other Ministers and Members of Parliament.

National security, law and order in the country, issues that are currently the focus of the security forces including several issues and proposals raised by Ministers, State Ministers and Members of Parliament including Minister Chamal Rajapaksa were taken into discussion at this meeting.

The Secretary General of Parliament Mr. Dhammika Dasanayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Defense, General G. D. H. Kamal Gunaratne, Commanders of the three Armed Forces and officials of institutions under the Ministry of Defense were also present at this committee meeting held.
