* Four arrested in connection with murder of ‘Keselwatte Fawas’

Dec 06, Colombo: Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) arrested four suspects with four swords in connection with the murder of Mohammed Kamil Mohammed Fawas alias ‘Keselwatte Fawas’.

A group who had arrived in a car had chased the 32-year old man and hacked him to death with sharp weapons on Saturday night.

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the victim had been arrested before over several crimes and had been remanded for some time and had been released on bail.

The suspects aged between 23 and 31, residents of Keselwatta were arrested with four swords used for the murder. Police also recovered a car used for the crime.

Information have revealed that a conflict between the two groups of drug traffickers has led to the murder, police said yesterday.
