Sat, Dec 4, 2021, 11:07 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Dec 04, Colombo: An investigation has been launched into the departure of the OIC of the Statistics Data Analysis Division of the Crime Intelligence Analysis Bureau of Sri Lanka Police without informing the relevant authorities.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa told ‘Dinamina’ yesterday (3) that the OIC is being treated as having vacated the service for leaving the country without taking leave.

He also said that the police inspector will be treated as having left the service after taking legal action due to his going abroad without taking leave.

The Police Spokesman said investigations have revealed that the officer has received an employment offer in a foreign country and he had left taking sick leave as there was not enough time to get leave approved.

The police spokesman further said that there is no damage to documents or data in the Bureau due to his departure.
