* Sri Lanka receives another 2.3 million doses of China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine

Aug 28, Colombo: Another 2.3 million doses of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine have been brought to the island Saturday morning (August 28).

The consignment includes 2 million doses purchased by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation and the 300,000 Sinopharm vaccines donated by People Liberation Army of China to the Sri Lanka Army.

The consignment was brought to the Katunayake International Airport by a special cargo plane belonging to SriLankan Airlines from Beijing, China.

With today’s delivery, the total number of Sinopharm vaccines purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) and received as donations amount to 18 million doses.
