* Sri Lanka, Russia reaffirm intention to enhance bilateral security cooperation

Aug 26, Colombo: Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev has met with Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Kamal Gunaratne in Moscow, the Security Council said on Thursday.

“Issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of security, including military-technical cooperation, were discussed,” the statement said.

Patrushev and Gunaratne reaffirmed their intention to intensify cooperation between the two countries through the security councils of Russia and Sri Lanka.
