* Sri Lanka receives another two million doses of China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine

Aug 24, Colombo: Another one million doses of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine purchased by Sri Lanka have been brought to the island Tuesday morning (August 24).

The consignment was brought to the Katunayake International Airport by a special cargo plane belonging to SriLankan Airlines from Beijing, China.

According to State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana., with Tuesday’s delivery, the total number of Sinopharm vaccines purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) and received as donations amount to 15.7 million doses.

The Chinese Embassy in Colombo said another 2 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine are scheduled to be delivered by the end of the month.
