* Several police operations in Western Province to arrest travel restrictions violators

June 12, Colombo: Police say that a special operation will be carried out today and tomorrow to search for persons violating traffic restrictions in the Western Province.

Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon has informed all police stations in the area to take legal action against persons and vehicles traveling without proper permission.

Accordingly, police officers on duty at the Provincial roadblocks and roadblocks set up at police station level as well as at junctions will carry out the special operations.

Meanwhile, Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon has instructed all police stations in the Western Province today to conduct another special operation using two motorcycles in each police division.

Accordingly, the operation will be carried out from 10 am to 12 noon today and from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Police stations have also been instructed to take legal action against those who violate traffic restrictions.
