* Coronavirus update: 2,177 new COVID-19 cases identified Saturday, total rises to 308,812

July 31, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 2,177 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Saturday.

Among the cases confirmed today, 2,150 are from the New Year cluster and 27 are foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 11 pm Saturday, a total of 308,812 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 27,314 infected patients are being treated at hospitals, while 277,118 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Sri Lanka reported 61 deaths Saturday raising the total to 4,441.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 9,634,704 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 2,134,106 have received the second dose.
