July 25, Colombo: The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued an extraordinary gazette notification setting a district-based maximum retail price for a domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Cylinder of 18 liters (9.6 kilograms) with effect from today, 25 July 2021.

CAA issues gazette making it mandatory to display the weight of LPG cylinders sold in the market in kilogram. MRP of a 18 liters (9.6kg) cylinder.

The Consumer Affairs Authority has ordered that “no manufacturer, distributor, dealer or trader of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) domestic Cylinders shall sell, expose, offer, display for sale or supply for sale any domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Cylinder of 18 liters (9.6 kilograms) within the districts above the Maximum Retail Price” given below:
