* ‘We will not allow free education to be curtailed’ - Opposition Leader

July 24, Colombo: “We will not allow free education to be curtailed,” said the Leader of the Opposition and Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa after meeting social media activists in Gampaha District today.

The Opposition Leader said that the Kotelawala Defense University should be maintained as it is and Samagi Jana Balawegaya has no problem with that.

“However, we will not allow anyone to combine it with free education and obstruct free education in that name,” As a party, Samagi Jana Balawegaya, is giving a clear message to the government,“ he said.

Gampaha District Social Media Activists met the Opposition Leader today (24) at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya organized a protest march yesterday (23) from Inguru Kade Junction in Colombo North to Hulftsdorp Junction to protest against the "arbitrary actions of the oppressive government".

Ven. Maturata Dhammalankara Thero was present at the occasion and the protest was presided over by the Opposition Leader.
