July 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka Saturday reported that 52 deaths due to COVID-19 occurred on Friday, July 23, 2021.

The Director General of Health Services has confirmed that 52 deaths occurred on Friday, July 23 due to the COVID-19.

Among the Friday’s deaths, 26 are of males and 26 of females. The majority of the deaths numbering 39 are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group.

According to the data reported by the Government Information Department, the total deaths due to Covid-19 since the pandemic began last March has now risen to 4,054 including the deaths confirmed Friday.
