* Education Minister tests negative for COVID-19

Jan 23, Colombo: Ministry of Education has stated that Education Minister Prof. G L Peiris who had been on self-quarantine, has tested Negative for COVID-19.

The Minister of Education and his family members had been subjected to self-quarantine and PCR tests as a result of being a close associate of State Minister of Education Piyal Nishantha who is currently infected with the coronavirus.

It has been confirmed that the Minister, his family and the staffs have not contracted the virus, stated the Ministry of Education.
