* Sri Lanka Health Minister contracts COVID-19 - report

Jan 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has been infected with COVID-19 coronavirus following a Rapid Antigen Test, BBC Sinhala Service reported according to reliable sources.

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has decided to quarantine herself at home until the results of Friday’s PCR test.

However, the Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi has not officially stated that she is infected with the coronavirus.

The Minister of Health had also consumed the anti-corona honey which was introduced by a local shaman in Kegalle recently.

At present one minister, two state ministers and a Member of Parliament have been infected with the corona virus. Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara, state ministers Dayasiri Jayasekara, and Piyal Nishantha and MP Rauff Hakeem were infected with the corona virus.

State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara who was infected with the coronavirus has returned home fully recovered.
