Fri, Jan 22, 2021, 12:22 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Jan 21, Colombo: The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said the first batch of 22 workers returning to South Korea for employment in the year 2021 left for South Korea this morning (21) on a special charter flight KE 9474.

The workers left for Korea 48 hours after undergoing PCR tests. South Korean authorities are set to direct the Sri Lankan workers to respective work places after a 14-day quarantine.

All foreign workers entering South Korea must install on their mobile phones an app issued by the country’s health services and update their details during their quarantine period.

According to the measures taken by the Republic of Korea to prevent the global Covid-19 epidemic, foreign workers working under the E9 visa must submit a valid PCR test report upon entry into Korea with effect from 1 January 2021.

The PCR test report must be taken within 72 hours of departure for Korea, and foreign workers who do not have the PCR test report will be deported by the Korean government.
