* Sri Lanka reports three more COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, toll rises to 247

Jan 13, Colombo: Sri Lanka confirmed three more deaths on Wednesday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 244, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed following three deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 247 by now.

01. The deceased is a 66 year old male from Battaramulla area. While receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital, he was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he died on January 12. The leading cause of death was exacerbated heart disease due to COVID-19n.

02. The deceased is an 81 year old male from Colombo-15 area. He died on January 12 while receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases. The cause of death was Covid pneumonia and respiratory infection. 03. The deceased is an 89 year old female from Colombo-10 area. She died on admission to the Colombo National Hospital on January 12. The cause of death was Covid pneumonia.
