Jan 11, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 569 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Monday.

Among the positive cases identified Monday, 564 are associates of the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster, four form the prison cluster and one arrival from overseas already in quarantine.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 8:45 pm Monday, a total of 48,949 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,618 infected patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 625 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Sri Lanka reported 240 deaths and 42,091 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 1,389,831 PCR tests have been conducted to detect COVID-19 infected persons from February 18 to January 10, according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
