Jan 10, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 540 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Sunday.

Among the positive cases identified Sunday, 536 are associates of the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and four arrivals from United Arab Emirates.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 10:45 pm Sunday, a total of 48,380 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,823 infected patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 603 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Sri Lanka reported 232 deaths and 41,325 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 1,376,607 PCR tests have been conducted to detect COVID-19 infected persons from February 18 to January 09, according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
