* Army soldier killed in motorcycle accident

Jan 10, Colombo: A motorcyclist who was traveling on the Polonnaruwa-Batticaloa main road near the 28th mile of Kaduruwela today (10) has veered off the road and collided with a nearby electricity pole, Polonnaruwa Police said.

The deceased has been identified as WMS Rathnakumara, 36, a resident of Hatare Ela, Polonnaruwa and a father of two.

It has been revealed that he was serving in an army camp in the Minneriya area.

He succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital.

The autopsy and post mortem will be held at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital today (10), police officers investigating the incident said.
