Jan 10, Colombo: Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SBJ) Parliamentarian and leader of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Rauff Hakeem has been tested positive for COVID-19 today.

MP Hakeem in his Twitter account said he is to enter into a quarantine facility and requested those who came into contact with him in the last ten days to taken necessary health and safety precautions.

“I have tested positive for COVID-19 today and will be entered into a quarantine facility. I request those who came into contact with me in the last 10 days to take necessary health and safety precautions,” Hakeem tweeted.

Meanwhile, it is reported that MP Rauf Hakeem has participated in the parliamentary sessions after the commencement of the new year session on January 05.

Earlier, State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara was also infected with the virus. The State Minister is currently under treatment at a hotel quarantine center in Hikkaduwa and 75 close contacts of the Minister and others who participated in the minister’s public day in Hettipola have been directed for quarantine.
