* Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi resumes work after recovering from COVID

Feb 23, Colombo: Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi, who has recovered completely after receiving treatment for the COVID-19 infection, today (23) held a special discussion with the officials of the Ministry of Health on the current situation of the Covid epidemic and the virus control program as well as future health development programs.

The Minister also focused on the vaccination program implemented in the recent past targeting the control and suppression of the Covid virus, the current status of PCR testing, the implementation of health guidelines and the current status of Covid treatment centers.

Joining the discussion, the Minister of Health said that the health staff had organized various religious programs wishing her a speedy recovery during her treatment for the Covid infection and thanked all those, including the health staff, who had given her blessings and strength.

The Minister noted that as a result of the co-operation of all the staff of the Ministry of Health from the beginning of the Covid epidemic and working together as one family, they have been able to carry out health development programs, including the eradication of Covid, without any problems and pointed out the importance of further strengthening that program.
