* Sri Lanka reports two COVID-19 deaths Saturday, toll rises to 435

Feb 20, Colombo: Sri Lanka confirmed two deaths on Saturday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 435, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 435 by now.

01. The deceased is a 66 year old male from Kuruwita. He was transferred from Maharagama Apeksha Hospital to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 19. The cause of death is mentioned as respiratory system failure, blood poisoning, Covid pneumonia and cancer.

02. The deceased is a 78 year old male from Thihariya. He was transferred from Gampaha District Hospital in Colombo to Homagama Base Hospital where he died on February 20. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
