* Sri Lanka to receive 500,000 doses of vaccine ordered from India

Feb 20, Colombo: Acting Health Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana says that 500,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine ordered by the government from India will arrive in Sri Lanka before next weekend.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 263,779 people have been vaccinated so far under the Covid-19 immunization program.

The vaccination program was launched for the 23rd day today. Yesterday, 30,307 people were vaccinated.

The Vaccination drive commenced on 29 January after Sri Lanka received a donation of 500,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute in India.
