Feb 20, Colombo: The Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed health authorities to vaccinate the Buddhist monks and other religious leaders against Covid-19 immediately.

Accordingly, the vaccination of Buddhist monks in the Kandy District will commence today (20).

The Prime Minister has instructed the Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Prof. Kapila Gunawardena to take immediate action to vaccinate the clergy.

Accordingly, the vaccine will soon be distributed to all monks and other religious leaders covering the entire island.

Under this program, the Covid vaccination will be given to the monks in the Badulla District tomorrow (21).
