Feb 19, Colombo: Sri Lanka confirmed three deaths on Friday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 433, according to health authorities.
The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 433 by now.
01. The deceased is an 83 year old male from Matale. He was transferred from Matale Hospital to Theldeniya Base Hospital where he died on February 18. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
02. The deceased is a 73 year old male from Kalagedihena. He was transferred from Wathupitiwela Base Hospital to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 19. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and a bacterial infection.
03. The deceased is a 63 year old male from Nugegoda. He was transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 18. The Cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, acute kidney damages, kidney disease diabetes and high blood pressure.
