Aug 02, Colombo: Another consignment of 104,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) arrived in Sri Lanka early Monday, an airport official said.
The consignment arrived at the Katunayake International Airport this morning on a Qatar Airways flight.
This is the fifth batch of the Pfizer vaccines purchased by Sri Lanka. The first consignment of 26,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in Sri Lanka on July 05 and the second consignment of 26,000 doses on July 12. The third consignment of 70,200 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived on July 19. The fourth consignment arrived on 26 July.
Meanwhile, up to yesterday (Aug 01) 201,495 Pfizer jabs have been administered as the first dose and192 jabs as the second dose.
