* Sri Lanka reports record single-day increase of over 1500 COVID-19 cases Thursday

Apr 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka for the third consecutive day set an all-time high for coronavirus cases, reporting over 1500 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 so far today.

According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 1,531 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Thursday.

Among the positive cases identified Thursday are, 1,419 associates from the New Year COVID-19 cluster and 40 persons arrived from overseas.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 9:30 pm Thursday, a total of 106,484 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 10,372 infected patients are being treated at hospitals.

Six deaths due to COVID-19 were reported on Thursday, raising the total to 667 and 95,445 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
