* 19 people arrested for violating COVID-19 health regulations

Apr 25, Colombo: Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 19 persons were arrested yesterday (24) for failing to adhere to the quarantine rules and regulations.

They were arrested for failing to wear face masks and maintain social distancing, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.

Most of the individuals have been arrested from Kiribathgoda and Piliyandala areas, he said.

Since the 30th of October 2020 to-date, Sri Lanka Police have arrested 3470 people for failing to wear face masks and maintain social distancing.
