Apr 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka confirmed four more deaths on Saturday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 642, according to health authorities.
The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 642 by now.
1. The deceased is a 46 year old male foreign national residing in Colombo 02. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo and transferred to the Kandy National Hospital where he died on April 24. The cause of death is mentioned as heart and respiratory system failure with COVID Pneumonia.
2. The deceased is a 46 year old male resident in Rathgama. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he died on April 22. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia and a secondary bacterial infection.
3. The deceased is a 65 year old male resident in Kuliyapitiya. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital and transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he died on April 24. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia.
4. The deceased is a 63 year old male foreign national residing in Colombo 04. He has died on April 23 while undergoing treatments at a private treatment center in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia, chronic kidney disease and multi-organ failure.
