Apr 21, Colombo: Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa stated in Parliament today (21) that all those responsible for the devastating attacks on Easter Sunday will be brought to justice.

Today (21) marks the two year anniversary of the brutal terrorist attack on Easter Sunday and a minute of silence was observed in the House at the request of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Delivering a special statement, the Prime Minister said that the report and other documents prepared by the Easter Commission based on the information revealed have been referred to the Attorney General for legal action.

The Prime Minister stated that the government will not interfere in the judicial process and will provide the necessary assistance to make the judicial process a success.

He also said that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had provided the necessary facilities for the Criminal Investigations Department to conduct its investigations independently.

Speaking further the Prime Minister said that the previous government had to pay compensation to the innocent people due to neglect of national security and political interference. He said that group was still propagating various lies and obstructing investigations to divert the attention of the society.

The Prime Minister expressed his regret over the incident and said that the government was taking steps to prevent a recurrence of such acts of terrorism.

The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
